Early discussion of potential lists - list 5

Comments:
Wiat can someone post the explict reasons why Kelo is being taken out? Seems like a great case to debate with State bad arguments vs. economic concerns. I mean Kelo was on 2 or 3 list yesterday.

Ok but I think the real question is the sustenance of the debates over the course of the year- I think that early in the year despite the apparent advantages for the negative on Treaties the aff was better off earlier in the year as opposed to later. This was because there was essentially an inifnite literature base for those treaties. Except the SORT, which was stupid. I think with this small topic the neg will show up similarly prepared but I am interested in whether or not the literature base for each case can sustain an entire year of debate.

Not sure why it is arbitary. The concern I have is that we create topics that ENCOURAGE people to actually research the issues that are at the core of the topic instead of talking about cts vs. supreme or Zizek for most of the year. I am hoping some of these are close.
