Evidence to support Gordon's last Claim I spoke to a group of incoming first years who will be receiving a race-based scholarship. None could defend the merits of their award. We had about an hour conversation. Rank order of importance for a college student:

1) admissions based on race
2) busing
3) emminent domain

I'd argue that in terms of race, #3 might be more pressing in the short term, given the climate, but I'd still prefer 1 and 2.
